Lucky Cat is aka MattLok who uses this alias for his love of Deep House, Soulful House and Gospel House. His main influence is Dave Lee (aka Joey Negro) his aliases as Akabu and Jakatta as well as his band “The Sunburst Band”.
As Lucky Cat, he aims for that cosmic deep disco house sound with a soulful taste and maturity like Akabu.
Among other influences and in his DJ sets would include Sean McCabe, Crackazat, Masters at Work (KenLou, Kenny Dope and Louie Vega), Josh Milan, Kenny Bobien, Moody Man, M+S, Donald O, Nick Holder, Mass Syndicate, Su Su Bobien, Calvin Rock, Michael Watford, Colonel Abrams, Dj Spinna, Joe Claussell, Kerri Chandler, Arnold Jarvis, and so much more.
Back in the early days of the 1990s warehouse parties he was influenced by DJs like Peter, Tyrone and Shams, Kenny Glasgow (before his Techno days), Kevin Williams, Dave Campbell, Aki, Jason Palma, and most importantly Eugene Tam the owner of Play De Record who always helped MattLok keep up with the latest tracks and trends of all genres of music. MattLok would not be here today without his inspiration and ideology.
In terms of production and remixes, a large contribution and influence came from Stickman and the Stickman Records family.
